The DTL generator is an affordable high-speed, dry-cut, single point diamond turning lathe that employs precision diamond machining technology for traditional or advanced lens processing such as Cut-to-Polish and Digital (free-form) lens production. When using advanced lens processing, generated lenses move directly to conventional or sub-aperture polishers, eliminating the fining process.
Built for speed and precision, the unique Dual Axis-Cutting Controller, Dry-Cut Swarf Chamber, and User Interfacepromote smooth lens surface throughput, ease of operation and a clean environment. And because the DTL uses a dry cut process, the need for an expensive water reclaiming filtration system is eliminated.
DTL Models:
The DTL150 is a high speed generator that employs standard generating parameters to produce lens surface qualities which require conventional fining and polishing. The DTL150 is upgradeable to both cut-to-polish and digital (free-form) processing as well as automation.
The DTL200 offers advanced lens processing to produce digital (free-form) lenses. The DTL200 is available as a manual unit or may be upgraded to automation.
The CTL generator, a manual compact turning lathe, utilizes our patented single-point technology to produce conventional, digital, and free-form lenses for small to mid-size laboratories. CTL uses multi-data points to ensure that semi-finished lens blanks are surfaced, cribbed, and safety beveled in a fast and accurate process. This helps to reduce lens spoilage while optimizing lens and lap cycle times.
Similar to the larger DTL generator, the manual CTL generator family continues to offer the same traditional benefits of a dry-cut, advanced lens processing generator that you have come to expect from Coburn.
CTL Models:
The CTL65 base model
of the CTL series of generators is the fastest traditional Rx lens
generator in its class. This entry-level lathe generator cannot be
upgraded to process free-form, however it is an ideal fit for labs
familiar with the popular Coburn SL2 series.
The CTL85 is an
advanced manual generator that takes conventional and cut-to-polish
lens processing to new levels. Designed with expansion in mind, the
CTL85 is ready to be upgraded to digital and free-form processing,
crib-to-oval cutting, and lens diameter measuring features.
The CTL85DP model adds both the advanced lens processing digital (free-form) and the lens diameter measuring features from the factory. Lens can be processed using conventional finers & polishers or combined with the MAAT sub aperture polisher for an economical free-form system.
The SGX Plus Surface Generator provides progressive labs around the world with proven, high-performance cutting technology for CR39, hi-index, and polycarbonate lenses. Compact and intelligent, the SGX Plus processes all lenses totally free of elliptical error. Its computer-controlled precision provides a low-stress means of generating exact prescription curves. Additionally, the SGX Plus uses Coburn's three-axis, dry cut method of lens generating to ensure superior lens quality, while creating less mess in the lab. To meet the diverse needs of its growing global customer base, the SGX Plus offers an extended processing range, new 50/60 Hz brushless motor, small diameter lens cribbing, lower cost auxiliary components, and an all material, longer life, 9-flute cutter.
